Is there any way to silence unknown callers with my Verizon cellular S6 Apple Watch. I'm not talking about calls going to my iPhone's number that's paired to the watch but rather calls going to the specific number designated to my Apple Watch.

With my iPhone I just go to Settings, Phone, Silence Unknown Callers, then toggle on "Silence Unknown Callers". I can't find a similar setting on my Apple Watch. I wonder if this is something Apple has overlooked or am I missing it? 🤔

I don't think there is a way to do that. Did you give out your Watch phone number to anyone? Don't do that.

No but it’s a new number. IDK what the previous owner did. It’s only one call a week so not a big deal. I guess when Apple updated the phone app on iOS with that feature they ignored WatchOS 🙁

My Watch settings are set to mirror my phone, so it won't ring unless that phone does. Check you settings: Apple Watch App > Phone.

That's if a call goes to the phone. OP is talking about if a call goes directly to the watch. Spammers don't have to have "got" your number from anywhere, some of them just call every number sequentially. I don't even know what the direct number to my watch is, let alone give it out.

I had the same question and wish they'd fix it.

Exactly. I found an article that said the carrier should reject calls going to the watch number and if that's not happening turn off wifi on your phone then restart both the watch and phone. I tried that so we'll see. It's only maybe one call a week so I won't know right away if it works.

Even the 'silence unknown callers' on iPhone does absolutely nothing. I had to buy a third party app to stop anyone I don't know from calling me. My Nokia phone back in the day used to have perfect call blocking--silence calls not in contacts they called it. Perfect solution. Today, that doesn't seem to exist.

Silence unknown callers works for me on the iPhone. If I haven’t called that number and it’s not in contacts it is “unknown” and doesn’t ring. It just shows a missed call. Before that feature existed on iPhone what I would do is put my phone on do not disturb and list it for contacts only to call. The downside of this is even though contacts can call and my phone will ring I won’t get notifications for anything else to include text messages.

On the average day I will get three to five scam/spam calls. This feature is a lifesaver to me. I’m able to still receive calls from people I know but ignore all the scam/spam calls.

Oh I have that 'feature' turned on but my iPhone still rings constantly showing numbers that I have no clue who they are. It does block any call showing 'spam likely' but not unknown numbers not in my contacts. Only solution was turning Do Not Disturb on 24/7 and exempting my contacts. Right now it's a spare line I use as mostly data-only (Apple Watch, remote control, payment apps, etc) not really as a phone but still. It actually rang, as in the ringtone. But it'd show some odd number I have never seen like 216-854-xxxx

Okay I know your problem. Your carrier is identifying the calls. You need to get them to stop. "Spam Likely" isn't an unknown call. I had this problem with Verizon because they sold me their insurance that also came with this spam protection that would identify many numbers as "Unknown number" or something like that. What's worse is I couldn't even see the number of the person calling. Once I got them to turn this off I was good to go.

I wish I could, but this is Tracfone we're talking about. Never mind how hard it is for them to understand me! I had one heck of a time on one of their AT&T-based numbers when I tried to get them to disable MMS from email (was getting 5-10 text spam from email addresses per day)

That sucks. I remember having Straight Talk and it was good but the customer support is non existent. It's good if you don't have a problem though.

They're only non-existent because they're in India with poor English and tend to read from a script. They are cheaper though and I can use whatever type of phone I want. I was able to revive those old phones in my signature with a SIM kit.

I remember trying to call my watch number when I first got it and it didn’t work. Surprised to hear people are getting calls just on their watches.

The only cellular watch I had was the Samsung Gear S. I remember it didn't actually start ringing until two-three rings later. So I only got a ring and a half before it went to voicemail. Never understood that lag.
