Hey so I just got my 2g ipod touch and I was wondering, if there is such thing as a silent mode (not a application)? Because when I bring it into class I dont want it to make a sound every time I get a email or something.

Do I just put the volume to 0 or is there so way to turn off all the sounds instantly. OR when the ipod touch is in SLEEP mode then not sounds are created?

Thanks

PS-Dont want to create another thread, can you save your Email (USERNAME) with the Facebook application so you do not have to type it in everytime?

I'm assuming you have the 2nd generation Touch with speaker. You can turn the volume all the way down, and/or simply plug your headphones in. I don't have a 2nd gen but look in settings/general/sounds and see if there is an option for the speaker and/or keyboard clicks. You'll find all the other sound settings there as well. If you have a Sound Effects option look into it too.
