I tried it for the first time today and it wasn't working, or maybe I am missing something...
I push the sliding switch above the ringer/volume buttons, over to the side. I've tried with the orange dot showing and not showing. Anyone know whats going on?
Thanks.

Was there no sign that you had flipped the switch position on the iPhone screen? If you flip it, it should either show a bell or a bell with a line through it.

You should see a bell on the screen when you flip that switch on and off.
And mine vibrates cause I got the vibrate feature on during silent mode.
I hope you're not trying it while the phone is in lock mode.
YOu gotta be on the main screen and phone unlocked.

The screen simply has to be on, not necessarily unlocked. It will still display the bell if "slide to unlock" is up. I just tried it.

But as mentioned elsewhere, the display will not come to life just by flipping the switch.

I've tried the switch with the screen unlocked and at the home screen - nothing.
Could it be my sound or some other settings? Should I take it to an apple store?
