Someone on Threads noticed you can type any random sentence into Google, then add “meaning” afterwards, and you’ll get an AI explanation of a famous idiom or phrase you just made up - here is a related post on bluesky.
I just found that this works in gpt-4o mini too - I use it via the integrated functionality in DuckDuckGo‘s browser a.k.a. Duck-Ai, and, well:

what is the meaning and origin of: In a room full of tea- lights, the coffee is invisible. ? 🙃

I personally like everything about this 🤣😂🙃🥸 - thought somebody else might give it a go. 🥹🤪😃

nota bene: this underlines one of the areas these assistants have bigger problems currently - and this „functionality” might be simply suppressed at some moment in time, but it can deliver quite a bit entertainment IMHO. 😄

what is the meaning of the phrase "in a field of antelopes, the melon-heads move freely" ?

ChatGPT said:

The phrase "in a field of antelopes, the melon-heads move freely" is abstract and likely metaphorical, much like a line from surreal poetry or symbolic storytelling. Let’s break it down piece by piece and interpret potential meanings:

1. "Field of antelopes"

  • Antelopes are often symbols of grace, alertness, and vulnerability, especially in open spaces (like savannahs or plains).
  • A field of antelopes suggests a natural, possibly peaceful or pastoral setting, but also one where prey animalsgather—implying potential danger or tension.

2. "Melon-heads"

  • This could be literal (creatures with melon-shaped heads), but it’s more likely metaphorical.
  • “Melon-heads” might symbolize outsiders, oddities, or beings that don’t belong in the natural order of the field.
  • In folklore, “melon heads” are sometimes used to describe eerie, mutated beings—adding a possible sinister or alien tone.
