Hi

Can I use this:

SEAGATE Harddisk 250.0GB SATA2 5900RPM 8MB 8.9cm

As a replacement hard disk for the stock 80GB hard disk that came with the machine ?

I have not paid anything for the machine, so this is just for fun and maybe the twins could play some old Mac games on them :)

Anyone ?

Two reasons:

1) Price
2) Thinking that SATA2 was "closer" in age to SATA in the PM G5, and thus less prone to errors ??

I.e I do not have very good reasons, I am not a very good at these things...

So, this should work fine then, even if it is SATA3 ?

WD Harddisk 250.0GB SATA 7200RPM 3.5" 16MB Caviar SE16 SATA3

SATA III drives are reported to have problems in G5s. Some work, just make sure you check to make sure that drive is G5 compatible.
