I want to buy an iphone but I am afraid of moments when I dont want to take such an expensive phone with me (festivals, going out to drink, hiking, ..). I am afraid of damaging or losing it.

Are there any people who switch out there sim cards to a different phone or use some kind of text/call forwarding app (if this exists?)? Are there other solutions?

Who uses these: http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Normal-Adapter-Apple-iPhone/dp/B009B9YWB4 ?

Look into purchasing an OtterBox or LifeProof Fre case if you're worried about damaging your iPhone.

I dont want a huge protector or anything because at those times a simple dumb phone is enough for me.. I just dont need to have the iphone with me at those moments

When I head to the mountains to go snowboarding, I use a sim card adapter and take my old Motorola Q9h with me instead of my iPhone.
