SIM card error

Hello,

I upgraded to an iPhone 4 today. I've done everything like updating itunes to 9.2 etc. I connected my iPhone to the computer and its saying that i don't have a "valid SIM card" installed. :(

Because this is an upgrade (and i'm therefore keeping my number), do i have to put my original SIM card into the iPhone? In the shop they did a transferring procees so i didn't think i'd have to?

Any help would be much appreciated!
