Hi, i am Wira from Indonesia

on December i bought Iphone with IOS 4.5 ( it uses gevey for the sim card), than when i charge it to my laptop, my itunes pop up and it says to update to IOS 5, so i decided to update it, than after finishing the update, my iphone can't get to the menu as it keep saying sim is invalid, so i decided to bring it to Apple store here in Indonesia, they try to insert Indonesia sim card and it says sim is invalid, but when they insert America sim card (vodafone), it works and can enter the menu, than i ask them what happen, they say this is because the jailbreal for the ios 5 not release yet, so it has been 4 months till now, last week i decided to search on google for the jailbreak, and many people have post how to jailbreak it, i keep trying to do it, but i fail miserably, anyone can help me so that my indonesian sim card can work on my iphone please, i really need it badly as this is the only phone i use to contact my friend, thx

your Baseband (the radio version of the phone) will have update with the 5.01 update.

Use redsn0w 9.10.b5c to jailbreak from http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/14857834236/untethered-holidays

during the process it asks if you want to activate your phone, do so.

You can now access the menu

After the jailbreak:

Check and see in Settings/general/info at the bottom Modemfirmware

If it is on 4.11.08 (which comes with 5.01) you are stuck, there currently is no way to unlock the 4.11.08 baseband on the IP4.

Good luck
