Then any gsm nanosim will do.
Even ones that are deactivated or with no minutes on them.
Of you could borrom someones sim for a minute, connect to wifi and activate the phone. Then give them the sim back.

So I can put that sim in and not activate it, just have it in there so I don't get no SIM card allerts?

If you keep it on aeroplane mode you won't get the alerts, and the battery will last much longer. WiFi and Bluetooth can be turned on in aeroplane mode.

Is aeroplane mode different than airplane mode? Do I not need a sim card if its in aeroplane mode?

You only need a SIM to restore or activate the phone. After the restore or activation, you can remove the SIM card.

If you're planning on using the phone as an iPod, then yes you should turn on airplane mode. (You can still use WiFi and Bluetooth, as stated earlier in thread)

The only reason I need to know is because I might need to activate it later so I would like to have a sim card now.

Okay, got it. If I do buy that sim do I actually have to activate it?

Just borrow a SIM from a friend, you need to go through iOS activation, that's it. Aeroplane and airplane are the same thing, different cultures :p

Thanks. My original question was answered, but I want to buy that because I need a purchase on amazon. Since it is only $0.01 and I might need a sim card I thought it was a good idea to buy it.

You'd need a SIM for the network you want to be on anyway, I don't really recommend H2O, so I'd avoid that. But it is good for very low-minute, low-monthly-cost service - not so good for heavy data users.
