sim card tray holder

I managed to get the broken sim card tray holder out of it by cracking open the whole phone.

now my question is, is the old iphone tray card holder the same as the new iphone 3g's tray card holder?

if it is, i might have damaged the tray card input slot because the old iphone tray holder isn't going in.
