Since I joined the Apple annual upgrade program a few years back I have transferred my number and AT&T service over to my company who pays the service bill each month. When I went to do my first annual upgrade last year I was informed via the pre-approval process that because my service was connected to a corporate account that my phone was not eligible for upgrade. To circumvent this I activated a new AT&T account for a month in order to do the upgrade. Once I received the new phone I put the new SIM in, registered the phone and then put my old SIM in for the service my company pays and everything worked fine.
This year I got the same message and again went to AT&T and was told that they would/could not activate a new line and allow the phone to be upgraded. I left and walked down the street to T-Mobile and they provided me a new line and SIM without issue.
My plan was to activate my new Xs Max with the new TM SIM and then switch back over to my company paid AT&T SIM.
My question is if I activate the new phone with the TM SIM will I be able to switch back over to my AT&T SIM or will the phone be locked to T-Mobile?
Thanks in advance for any help.
