Carrier Sim Swapping on AT&T

Hello, I figured I would ask this question here even though it doesn't specifically concern iPhones.

I am upgrading to an iPhone from a dumbphone. I am a college student and I like to go to bars every now and then. I am kind of nervous about going out with an iPhone in fear that I could lose or break it with a few drinks in me haha. My question is could I just put my sim card into my old phone when I go out and leave the iPhone at home? Then the next day just switch it back to the iPhone.

I know this is kind of a weird question but I read this forum every so often and there are a lot of knowledgable people here.

Yes, you will probably need a sim adapter though. Cause the iphone uses nanosims and regural flip phones use full size sims.
