Sim vs Mini Sim w/pre-order to home

I think i'm going to have the pre-order delivered to my home. I'm just concerned/wondering how i'd activate the phone. I have a 3G which of course is the regular size Sim card. Would putting in the new Mini Sim card and connecting it to iTunes with syncing my account activate and set up the new mini sim card?

Those are the basic steps, as part of the iTunes activation the iTunes server will contact AT&T's systems to activate your new Microsim and this will also deactivate your current SIM.

thank you...i learned these couple of details about the mini micro sim awhile after i made this post. i haven't upgraded a phone yet through iTunes.
