Okay... I realize this is not on topic, but we have been discussing various applications and their compatibility with 10.9. I want to ward off the "Don't use Mavericks as your main machine" people. Instead, has anyone (and I know that it's likely only a few of you) found a way to play Origin games on Mavericks?

If not, just say no.

same here, even on DP 7, simcity still can't get full screen mode...what can i say this is still on early stage of mavericks :)

It doesn't have anything to do with Mavericks, the developers made it that way for performance reasons.

Well, I got the game to run, but wow... not only the Origin DRM is completely screwed and inherently unsafe (its buggy software which has components running with root rights!!!!) but the SimCity developers apparently never heard anything about the 'retina' business as well. Very disappointed by the port.

Fullscreen OpenGL window gets better performance because it allows the system to switch off the desktop compositor. Its part of OS X developer information. You can still change the effective rendering resolution if the performance is a concern.

You can run retina this way,

I don't want to 'run retina'. The performance would be awful (it already has problems under windows). I just want a competently programmed game, which renders text at higher resolution, in-game graphics at lower resolution and then combines them both. Its not that hard to do.

It runs fine for me. Who knows, maybe they will fix it. Then again they are a horrible company, so I've read.

Why do you consider 7 iterations of something to be an early stage?

7 is teensy - I've managed releases where hundreds of test/beta itterations have gone before the final live release.

Its all about the show stoppers (issues that absolutely cannot go live before being fixed). I suspect apple have a strict criteria for these.

Patience and all will be golden (master) soon enough :)

Ah. Well, I'm just saying that the limitations--whatever the reason--is not due to Mavericks. It exists in ML as well.

13A569 would imply there have been 569 builds

13 - Mavericks
A - version 0
569 - # of builds of 10.9.0

For comparison:
Leopard reached 9A559
Snow Leopard reached 10A432
Lion reached 11A511
Mountain Lion only reached 12A269

I'd say Mavericks is very far along, certainly it's not at an early stage seeing as it's already had more builds than any other OSX in the last 6 years and I don't think preview 7 is even the GM.

Looks like I will have to continue playing this baby in Windows via Boot Camp for now ;)

I hope they'll fix it very soon... I'm trying to get rid of my Windows 8 Partition and so far, the games I play at the moment are all supported by OS X (Starcraft 2), or via Wine (Duck Tales Remastered, Scribblenauts World)
