iOS Simple app help

I am new to iPhone/iPad dev but am a programmer. I have watched various tutorials from lynda.com and know the basics but would like some help around a specific idea that I have.

I would like to browse for an image found on the iPad/iPhone and then cut it into equal pieces lets say a 4x4 grid. I want to then touch the screen to make the pieces appear one by one as you touch the screen.

Can anyone give me some code snippets to help me on my way?

You might want to try the Apple iPhone/iPad developer site for their sample programs and tutorials.

You have to be a registered member, but of course you have to be that to get access to the tools/libraries.
