From researching this a little it seems apple silicon macs support a 80% charge limit (only) in firmware after a certain firmware revision.

Is there a SIMPLE utility to just flip that 80% limit on/off in firmware?

I don't want something running all the time. Also flipping that in firmware means it will limit 80% charge even the machine is off, presumably, that's how it worked on my old intel mac.

I'm looking around and there's a BUNCH of options out there on git but seems they all want some service/background task/tray icon etc.

I used charge-limit on my intel mac and it was perfect, set the % and close the app. I did have to reset the charge limit after OS updates though but that is all fine by me as it needs to hit 100% every once in a while.
