Among the starlings
Hi folks --

I have a new project that requires a CMS with the following features:

1) EASY for client to use and update
2) Calendar
3) Multi-user private area

For ease of use, I'd go with Wordpress, but it doesn't really handle the other two requirements very well. I love Drupal for 2 and 3, but it's really over-complex for the client to handle.

I suppose Joomla is an option, but I've never been impressed with its documentation, extension ecosystem, or administrative interface (not to mention that it seems a bit fragile).

Since the client's budget is low, I'd prefer to go with a solution that's easy to configure, well documented, and does everything needed pretty much out of hte box. What would you use in this situation?

I would create a much simpler system from scratch, otherwise it sounds like you need to heavily modify one of the existing systems.

I have only just started investigating, but CMS Made Simple and SilverStripe are on my list of simple-looking CMS's to try out.
