I have a white 2G Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook and the 60 GB HD is full up. I want to take it to the shop, get a larger HD put in (and some RAM), come home, and reinstall Tiger from the install discs that came with the machine (or maybe buy Snow Leopard if the wife lets me). All my data is on another machine and an external drive so I don't have to worry about the data on this machine. I will just wipe the HD clean before I take it in.

Is it as simple as that? I have read something about journalling and HFS formating(?) Will I be able to use the install discs on a new HD? Will everything be recognized?

Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

Oh, and also, I have a Windows partition on the HD. The shop did it for us before. Is that easy to do and nothing to worry about? When it comes to hardware I'm like a baby in a science lab.

The installer will take care of that for you.
