I am using the trial version of textexpander and cannot figure out to apply formatting (e.g., bold) to the snippets.

How do you do this in textexpander? I am wondering if this is disabled in the trial version, or if I am just overlooking how to do it.

Thanks.

Are you talking about using bold for forum posts? If so, include the bold tags around your text.

No. I would like the textexpander app to insert a bolded snippet in any application that support rich text. Does it support bolded snippets?

Yes, it can do that. It involves two preliminary steps.

1. Open TextExpander and go to Preferences, near the bottom is “Default Snippet Format.” Click on it and choose “Formatted text, Pictures.”Close Preferences.

2. Select your snippet on the left column, and on the right top you will see a drop down, make sure that is also “Formatted Text, Pictures.” Below the snippet you will see two small drop boxes on the left side. One to choose the font, the other to choose the style. Make your selections and then close the window.

Now when it is inserted it will give you whatever format you pre-set.
