simple iphoto question

ok, so if i click and drag a bunch of photo's that are in my "pictures" folder and drop them into iphoto, will it create a copy of the photo's in the iphoto library so that i'm able to delete the originals? or should i leeve them cluttering up my pictures folder?

It'll make a copy and you can trash the rest that were on your desktop

Hey I got a stupid question about iPhoto......

How do I change the resoltion of a photo without attaching it to an e-mail? I have iPhoto 4.0.3 on 10.4.2.............
