Thinking of taking the plunge and buying for for Xmas.

Will it play any region DVD or are they fixed geographically?

Is Blue ray an option?

If I want to copy a DVD to iTunes movies what if the DVD is protected?

A 15" with 2.53ghz is £400 cheaper than one with 2.8ghz.
Is it worth spending the extra on this processor?...All I do is net and store/play films music.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can play any region dvd.

BluRay is not an option

You can use the program HandBrake to rip any dvd to your computer

If thats all you're doing then just stick with the 2.53ghz model. That is more than you need

you have 5 times to change the region of the computer, and then it locks it...
You can use VLC, it doesnt look at the region of the dvd

As I'm sure you can tell from the rumors on this site many people are expecting Apple to release updated MBPs sometime in the first quarter next year. If you don't specifically NEED the laptop now (or for Christmas) you might want to wait.
