Simple Mailing List

Hi guys,
I have just set up a website for a friend with a band and I was wondering what is the best way to set up a mailing list so that the visitor to the site can just type their email address into a box and that be added to the list which i can send an email to all the members of.

There are several ways to go about this. The first question is, what technology you want to use?

You easily do it with PHP, or with PHP and Mysql or you could make a perl sript...

I would do it in php, let them type in their names, add them to a list, and when you want to write an email to your users, just send an email to everyone on the list by adding them all to BCC (So they cannot see eachoters email address). I'd put my own address as the recipient and the sender.
