Generally speaking, upgrading the CPU in a laptop isn't practicable and it would certainly void your warranty. Given the spec of your machine, I'm not sure it would give you a whole lot of benefit anyhow - there's not much speed difference between 2.0ghz and 2.4 Ghz in real terms (comparing the iMac and MBP I use daily).

what machine, mbp then no. its soldered in and would be way to difficult to attempt unsoldering it

It may be a "yes, yes, yes" if you're really good with electronics and a soldering iron, but I wouldn't recommend it
