simple question about "preview" for someone

i have a preview file saved on my desktop. its a picture of something. i want to post that picture on a forum. how do i copy it to a post on a forum?

Try out the Manage Attachments button.

im on portfoward.com forums. they dont have that button. just so you guys know i held down command, shift, and 3 to snap a screenshot of a web page and now i want to copy it to a post. its a png file

You need to upload it somewhere - www.imageshack.us gives you all the right kind of code to copy and paste.
