Hi!

I have, what I believe to be, a simple question to which I have yet been able to find a simple answer. Or maybe it's simply a stupid question and I'm too much of a dummy to get that. :)

I have 13-inch, Mid 2012 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.9.5., and in a recent effort to make my mac more secure, I disabled and removed Java, followed by the installation of ClamXav and BitDefender with a subsequent complete scans by both apps.
My question is: With both ClamXav and BitDefender's threat definitions updated and their scans coming back as clean, does that mean that my Macbook is completely free of any malware known-to-date to be capable of infecting Macs, and does the clean first-ever scan mean that my macbook has never been infected?

Thanks!

Or maybe you didn't use a clear subject line such as "how to determine if my mac is malware free" rather than a generic statement that could be about anything

I would say yes your mac is malware free and has always been.
