So simple I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but ask I will!

Recently I noticed a little number on my iCal icon in the dock, just like the number that shows up on the Mail icon for new mail. What is it trying to tell me? I have no idea what the number means! It is always a 1, never changes.

Thanks in advance!

Simple question re: iCal and the little number that now appears

It's a notification icon. Click the "envelope" looking icon at bottom left of screen. Up will appear an event that was sent to you and put into your ical automatically. When you check "done" or whatever the button is, icon will disappear.

Thanks for that! I actually had a similar issue at work (Windows), and called our IT department to find out what it was. When I got the answer, I thought it might be the same thing at home on the mac, and sure enough, it was!

Thanks for replying!
