Hey all,

As the title implies, I'm looking for software that allows me to remotely use a Mac (M4 Mac Mini) from another Mac (M1 Pro MBP) within the same network. I don't need any fancy bells or whistles, or even access from outside the network. Apps like TeamViewer or AnyDesk are more complex than I need, so I'm wondering if there's something more simple.

The only analogy I have is the Windows app (previously called Microsoft Remote Desktop, I think), which does precisely what I want with my Windows machine, with no third-party tools even needed on the host Windows machine and responsiveness being almost as good as using the host computer itself. Is there anything similar for Mac? I came across Apple Remote Desktop but that's not quite what I'm looking for (and it's $80). Might there even be a setting I'm missing on my Mac that could enable this?
