Simple speakers for Mac Pro.

I know there is a speaker thread a few down from this but that guy is after something more expensive than need. I recently purchased a new Mac Pro and ACD (for shipping 21st Feb) and I need some speakers to complement the built in speaker. I'm currenly running an old g4 20" iMac with the little ball speakers and this is fine for my needs so really I want some speakers that will give similar sound. I see the JBL creatures but they have a big sub and I really want something that will be powered from the Mac. Also are any of the ipod docs able to be connected to the mac pro to give sound from it when an ipod is not in and playing? Hope someone can help. I'm in the UK if anyone has any useful links.

i just bought a set of Bose companion 3's after a bit of research and whilst I'm aware they are not the best speakers you can get they're not too bad and provide a good bit of bass if thats what you are after...not to mention they are simple to setup with just plug and play required

Get some old Advent AV270s on eBay. Made in 1996, but great sound.
