Simple Stereo Speakers for Apple TV

I'm looking to buy some simple stereo computer speakers (that sound DECENT) that I can just plug into the optical out on my ATV to then stream music to it.

Is there such a thing? Do I need a stereo receiver in between?

I feel like I'm overlooking something very simple but it's one of those days...

I've never seen speakers that plug directly into an optical plug. What are you currently using to play sound on your ATV?

Right now it outputs directly to my TV. What I think I'm going to do is switch it to the TV via HDMI and then to the speakers via 2 RCA -> Mini Plug
