I have recently discovered you can hide the menu bar (how did I miss that for so long!). I love the clean look and marginally extra space it gives me.
But I miss the clock... can anyone recommend a simple transparent floating clock utility? Ideally one that you can "click through" and position in the top right somewhere so when I glance up I can see how long I have until my next meeting :)

Best wishes
James

If you have a mbp with touchbar, Better Touch Tool can put a clock widget on the touchbar, or flash up the time on screen with a key combination.

I have been meaning to investigate Better Touch Tool for a while so I will check it out -- however I use my Macbook docked (closed) pretty much all the time, and I want to be able to glance up and see the time. Perhaps I will buy a wall clock :)

Haha, that would be the easier solution, why do we default to solving everything with an app?! With a wall or desk clock, I'd still recommend a radio control clock - it's always correct and you never have to adjust it for daylight savings.

Did you think to check the Mac App Store? There are a lot of clock apps there.

Yes, I did check there and none of them fit the bill which is why I asked here. But I'm glad I did because Digital Clock 4 seems to be exactly what I imagined!

Glad Digital Clock 4 fit the bill. And I'm glad you asked about it, because I was just thinking about the same type of app and it forced me to finally find one.

It's a little bit buggy, but it is better than nothing at all. So may not be my final destination but at least a good stop on the way. I also got a digital clock from amazon which is now under my monitor... ;-)
