I'd like to replace the off site back up functionality of Carbonite/Mozy using Time Machine and a networked HD. I have some questions about this...

1. Are there any simple NAS drives that can do this? What I mean is, can I just buy one, take it to my parents' place and plug it into the wall and the ethernet port and forget about it? Or is there some sort of maintenance and attention required for NAS storage solutions?

2. I don't need much storage, only about 60 gb at most at this time, since i have a small music and dvd collection...any recommendations for small, simple NAS storage drives?

3. Are there any differences between this proposed solution with Time Machine and the way Carbonite/Mozy work?

I'd like the simplest solution possible...I don't want to think about my backup, but if just plugging in a networked drive in another location is all i have to do and configure it with time machine, then that would save a lot of money from not having to subscribe to other monthly fee off site back up solutions. but simplicity is key...since i don't go back to my parents' place that often i can't be worrying about turning it on and off and all that.

Thanks!
