I've been rather recklessly shooting all my videos in 4K 60FPS since I got my iPhone XS Max around this time last year. Whilst the videos look great I have filled both my iCloud storage and my 256GB internal phone memory. I've been going through and deleting all the 'rubbish' but I still have 100s of GB of videos that I want to keep in my main 'photo's library so offloading them all onto an external drive isn't really an option.

Is there a simple way to just convert some of the videos to 1080p 60fps, I really wish there was an option to do this in the native Photos app. At the moment the only way I can think of is to export the videos, covert them using a 3rd party application and then import them back into 'Photo's, this feels a bit long winded so if anyone knows of a way to do this whilst maintaining their presence in the Photos app then it would be hugely appreciated.

Can you not just create an iMovie project on the iPhone and export it to 1080p?
Yea that may be what I end up having to do. I have 100s of videos that need doing though so I was hoping for something less time consuming. I think exporting them all, batch converting in handbreak and then replacing them back into photos is probably my best bet. I hope they retains all the meta-data and location info etc though.

I wish iOS made it possible to switch resolution/FPS on the fly instead of having to go all the way into settings.

Thanks, I’m very familiar with handbrake, this may be my best option. I don’t suppose you know if handbrake will retain all the metadata and location data etc as I wouldn’t want to lose that.

I would search for an AppleScript that uses Quicktime, it might be faster than HandBrake and preserve your metadata.
