Simplifying setup and getting a mac mini

Hey, I want to simplify all my old cobbles together computer setup and get a mac mini. Wondering what accessories people reccomend and external storage options.

A monitor with an integrated port hub is good, particularly with the M1 Mini (2 less USB-C ports than Intel version).

Haven't checked, but I am guessing probably most monitors above base level have it now.
