I just installed Sims 2 into my MacBook

Open it up, and it looks like this:

& When I highlight the words it looks like this:

Any suggestions on why it's like that?
Thanks :)

Mine too

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that my Sims is doing the same thing. I have a Macbook Aluminum 2.0 Ghz. Also, the text looks like this as well in Fable - The Lost Chapters. Is this something to do with the new NVIDIA Card? I hope we are able to fix this. Really would like to play my games.
Thanks for any help

I'm having the exact same problem. And sometimes I can't highlight stuff, so I just kinda have to guess. It's really frustrating. Has anyone been able to fix this?

It's definitely a problem with the graphics card. Are all software updates installed?

If you have a unibody MBP, what happens when you change graphics cards?

If you are using a WhiteBook, it was definitely not designed for gaming. The graphics card is crap.

OK I found an update and it fixed the problem! Just to clarify I am running the Mac edition--I've never even used Cider.

So if anyone is having this problem the update is here:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/games/demos_updates/thesims2.html

Be sure to download "Sims2ComboDec2007", since that will take care of any combos apparently, and when I downloaded a different file it wouldn't update the game app.

maclover001, thankfully I don't do a lot of gaming... I just wanna play the Sims. :)
