I've seen where users of EEE pc's from Asus have simulated higher resolutions on the screen than what it physically supports by using a VNC workaround. Obviously, no more than the physical number of pixels on the screen can be displayed, but for those of us used to higher resolution screens, the "extra space" is welcomed.
Has anyone tried something similar with the MacBook? I had been using a MBP at 1680 and now regularly use an Inspiron 1720 at 1920x1200... and now going back to 1280x800 on a MB it feels like I don't have much room to spread out. Even a 1440 emulated res would help.
