Simultaneous headphone output and internal speakers

Hi all,

When an electrical or optical jack is plugged into the MBP’s external (headphone) output, the internal speakers are automatically muted. I understood from other posts that this is done by a little switch in the jack chassis.

Does anyone of you smart people know of any way to activate the external output (in particular the optical output) and the internal speakers simultaneously?
