This is probably a really dumb question. I'm not a tech guy so I don't understand why different networks can/ can't do certain things.

Is this something that will be possible when the verizon iphone is jailbroken? Kind of like using facetime over 3g. Or is it completely impossible with verizons network?

Thanks

Should've went w/ AT&T if you need/wanted that

Verizon is currently upgrading their networks to allow simultaneous voice and data. Of course, the caveat is that you'll need a new iPhone to take advantage of this network.

Not possible with any kind of hack.
Only when connected to wifi CDMA phones can do talk and pull data.

Yah just got mine, and i didn't even know it could do this until i got it (wifi+voice), it's cool. I'm often in wifi networks anyway, so it feels like an at&t iphone unless i'm driving or something. But it can get annoying when i'm trying to use gps/directions and a call comes in. But whatevs, an iPhone's an iPhone to me... i'm happy with it

Get GPS software like TomTom with offline maps. You'll be glad you did. :D
