since AT&T is selling the iphone online now?

since AT&T is now selling the iphone for $500 without activation and having to be eligible for a contract can i walk into apple and get one as well?

reason being because i lost my 3G and since i bought one in july my account is not eligible for the one. and i have an apple gift card so thats why i dont just buy it from AT&T

I don't think AT&T is offering a contract-free iPhone just yet.

I'm pretty sure they are just selling it at $299, but you need to activate it through iTunes with a 2-year contract.

It's true, AT&T is only selling them with a two year contract.

They are selling it for $499 you still have to renew your contract for 2 years but you'll be eligible even if youre not up for an upgrade. In order to see it at that price you have to log in to your ATT account and then click on upgrade.
