Title says it, since re installing OSx 10.9.5 every time I eject transmission (the thing that pops up after you unzip an installer) I need to reinstall(click on the .dmg file) transmission in order to use it again.

Im not trashing it or anything, simply closing the program and ejecting it like I would with any other installer. Then when I go to click another torrent it says no program recognized to magnet the torrent so I need to re click the .dmg file to 'reinstall' transmission even though i never uninstalled it in the first place.

It sounds like you're trying to run Transmission from the installer. You should be dragging the Transmission.app from the .dmg to your Applications folder. Then you eject the .dmg and delete it. You then run Transmission from your Applications folder.

That sounds like it would be it! Thanks. I know exactly what you mean but I didn't do it this time.
