Since ios 7, most of the apps became laggy and slow

I have an iphone 4 and it is on 6.1.3. Most of the apps are starting to became laggy and slowI don't know if the devs do this on purpose on older devices or they just don't care anymore. I mean, what is so hard about a mail client with flat, plane, white interface and normal animations? Apps like evernote, 9gag, hop, boxer and others are very laggy.

Just as the latest OS runs less than optimal on older Macs, the same would be true of apps on older iPhones. Simply refrain from updating the apps unless the developer disables the older version from functioning or you need a certain function from the updated app.

The apps are probably ones that have been optimised and reworked for iOS 7. Unless your running old versions, in which case if they've gone slow it may be your phone.
