Hi everyone
As Im planning to upgrade my two mac pro from two 5150 xeons i would like to here if there is anybody out there, who can confirm that it is possible to run Mac Pro 1.1 (first generation) with only one cpu (e5320)?

I believe you can run a Mac Pro with only a single CPU. I'm not sure why you wan't to downgrade to a single e5320 though or if it is supported. Even If you plan on adding another at a later date you'd have to have a pretty special workflow for it to be an improvement.

Is it actually a downgrade? Isn't that the one where you have to mask the pins and because it's 10xx instead of 1333 FSB it runs at like the same speed?
