Some often claim that with 8GB and 16GB on iPad Pro M1, Safari tab doesn't reload even after a week.

True or false? Lets put it to test.

Since iPadOS/iOS 13, background execution exception has been reduced to 30 seconds. Does Safari utilize this exception or does it suspend, save state/screenshot when put in background then restore state/screenshot when brought back to foreground?

Easiest way to tell if it's reloading is to view dynamic vs static content in Safari such as https://www.time.gov/, put it in background then bring it to foreground. If it reloads you'll see the page show 'synchronizing'.

Verdict, on an 8GB iPad Pro M1 running iPadOS 14.6 with just single Safari tab running it doesn't reload if brought back to foreground within ~5 seconds. Anything over ~5 seconds Safari reloads. This is shorter than, for example, SSH client that is allowed 30 second background execution. If you don't see it reloading then you're viewing static content and a restored state/screenshot when Safari is brought back to the foreground.

Can someone with 16GB test and confirm?
