In the Contacts app, when you add or edit a Contact the first three fields are First Name, Last Name, and Company.

When I put a business in my contacts, like a restaurant I order to go food from regularly, I don’t use the first and last name fields. I just put the business name in the company field.

For Contacts, I used to be able to say “Hey Siri, call [Company]” and it would call the phone number listed in the business’s contact.

But now in iOS thirteen, a lot of times it will find the closest contact that has a similar first name/last name. Like if a contact has a company field named Johnny’s Pizza and I say “Hey Siri, call Johnny’s Pizza”. Then Siri will say “Just to confirm, you’d like to call John Petersen?l. Because I have a different contact with the first name John and the last name Petersen”. That’s just an example I made up. I’ve got several contacts it’s doing that with, and the pronunciations are a lot different. Another example is “Hey Siri, call Lucia’s” (pronounced Lou Chia’s). And Siri will respond, “Just to confirm, you’d like to call Larry MacDonald?” That’s a real example. It’s probably the most different pronunciation I’ve found. But there are a couple of companies in there that you say their name and they are called.

Note that iOS 13 is only on my iPhone. My iPad is an iPad Air and it’s just a little too old to have gotten iOS 13. So it’s got iOS 12 on it. On my iPad when I say “Hey Siri, call Johnny’s Pizza”, it contacts my iPhone and calls Johnny’s Pizza.

Another annoying thing. I’ve got a contact that the first name is Mom, no last name, no company. I’ll say “Hey Siri, call Mom”. And Siri will respond, “I don’t know who your mother is. What is her first and last name?” That happens only on iOS 13, not on iOS 12.

Are these features? Am I stuck with it this way? Is there a way to roll it back to the way it used to work?

Note that this may not have started with the upgrade to iOS 13. I had to do a factory reset because I’m also working with Apple on a bug in CarPlay. It may have started then. I’m not sure.
