In iOS 15, if I had my device somewhere with the screen turned off and my AirPod Pro's connected to it while listening to anything and then I also received a text message, Siri would stop whatever was playing and read me the text message. If I said "reply" within a certain time frame, Siri would ask me to say my reply and I would. Siri would then read me my reply back and ask me to confirm the whole reply before sending. Furthermore, I could do this all without the display turning on at all.
That is no longer the case in iOS 16. Same scenario as above on the same device. If I receive a text message, Siri still stops whatever audio is playing and reads me my text message. I can say "reply" within a certain time frame and Siri will ask me to say my reply. However, Siri never ever asks for confirmation and it never sends it without me having to get my device and physically push send on the already lit up screen. Its as if as soon as Siri is invoked, text translation must be displayed on the screen. And since the screen is lit up, you no longer get voice confirmation on the AirPod Pro's. Its frustrating, and I imagine even more so for visually impaired users worse than I am.
I've gone over every setting I can think of but nothing I can find seems to make Siri operate at least in a manner similar to iOS 15. I'm here hoping someone can tell me I'm dumb for missing "This" setting or that it's a bug I can report to Apple. I am going back to iOS 15 today just because of this feature but I would also like confirmation that I'm not the only one experiencing this.
Thanks.
