Siri cannot calculate...

strangely the reminders now seems to work
the calculation DON'T.I'm using siri in italian, maybe it has some limitations...?
Siri can be temperamental. It seemed to forget how to give me the weather for my home town for a while so what may work now may not tomorrow and vice versa. Try wording it in as many different ways as you can until it does it for you.
The actual calculations appear to be handled by wolfram, will it tell you unit conversions?

Of course calculations only work in English, tried it in other languages... You might be able to imagine that such new feature is available only on 1st grade language at first. Italian is a Siri language 3rd grade.
1st grade is English, gets all features from day one
2nd grade is German and French, they got male versions and stuff early on
3rd grade is the rest, they don't do that many things as of now.

At first glance it does appear to be a language issue; it works for me in NZ in English, but won't do it when I switch to Japanese. Admittedly I'm still learning but I *think* I'm phrasing the question correctly

Exactly. Only English. No other 2nd or 3rd grade lang...

Speaking as someone who works as a Japanese-to-English translator, odds are you aren't. ; )

The problem is, that wolfram alpha's abilities are limited in other languages than english. So in German Siri can't calculate as well. At least she gets some information from Wikipedia.
Translating would be useful in general, but just isn't such an easy feature to be implemented and work well.
the bad thing I can't even speak english to "her" for doing these tasks because it's set in italian...
Today I was driving my car and needed to do a simple calculation, I found out that siri does not do that.
Often I need to create a reminder, siri does not do that.
I found this feature pretty useless, what do you think?
Siri can do reminders. I have just done so.
