I have been having troubles regarding using Siri to control playbacks on my Apple TV 4K.
So when I was playing YouTube or Netflix videos on the AppleTV, a lot of times when I told Siri (both through the Siri remote or HomePod) “pause”, she would just say “There’s nothing playing.” When I paused the video and told Siri “play”, my Apple Music would start to play on my appletv instead of the video. If I told her more specifically “play the video”, she would just say “I can’t do that here, sorry about that.” However, sometimes it works as expected.
After fiddling around, I found a connection between when it fails or not. So in my iPhone, in the Home app, AppleTV section, (after long clicked it), if it shows the video that’s playing on the AppleTV, then the Siri controlled playback would work. But most of the time it will just show some stuff from Apple Music (paused), even though I didn’t ask her to play the music. And that’s when the Siri controlled playback fails.
Is there anyway to fix this issue? Am I the only one having this issue? :(

My setting is the AppleTV 4K with HomePod stereo pairs set as default audio output.

Thanks!

This started (for me) with the 14.3 update this week. Sometimes the pause/resume will work, but typically it starts playing the last Apple Music song that was played. I say bug.

I even had this issue at 14.2 :/
