I have a non-bluetooth non-Siri-button-having car. Regular car. Phone (ios 8.whatever) plugged into cigarette lighter charger (I'd plug it into my car's USB hole, but THAT's even worse, since the phone assumes I'm not listening to the FM radio on my head unit and then I can't hear stuff the phone does, but that's another complaint...)
Problem: I have "Hey Siri" enabled. Works OK except for this use case: At beginning of drive, I set the phone to navigate me to a place. Start driving. Partway there, I say, "Hey Siri". She beeps. I say, "Read my messages". She does (sometimes i have to put my thumb on the print reader, but OK). More time goes by and I pass what I'm pretty sure was my exit. The phone makes a bell sound. I look away from the road to the screen and there's instructions to turn around. On the screen. Why did Siri quit giving me voice directions? It seems it's because I never exited "query mode". Do I seriously have to reach for the phone after every request and turn her off so her nav will start working again?
Isn't there an "I'm driving" or "handsfree" mode I can select when I get into my car?
