Hey folks,

I have a Siri problem that just appeared recently. I already tried to restart the watch but it doesn't help.

When I press the crown to tell Siri "Remind me of (whatever) tomorrow at six pm", the text stops at "Remind" and the rest isn't picked up. Then it says "I don't understand" or "please repeat that" and it happens again. After the third or fourth time it suddenly works.
It happens with the phone in reach and over wifi so it's not a connectivity thing I think.

I also had it with "Put (whatever) on the shopping list". Like, "Put carrots on the shopping list". The text appears (carrots is visible!) and then takes a few seconds and then asks "what do you want to put on the shopping list"?
I repeat "carrots", see the text and then it says "sorry, I didn't understand this. What do you want to put on the shopping list?".
And then finally, after me yelling "CARROTS GOD DAMNIT!", it puts "carrots" on the list (including the swearing).

I'm using Siri only in quiet environments and when I'm alone (because I work from home ;-) ) and there is no way ambient noise would distract it. Also, I am pretty sure my microphone works just fine, I occassionally answer phone calls and no complaints. I can also record voice memos.

Does anybody know why this behaviour suddenly appears and what I could do to fix it? It's getting pretty annoying to be honest.

Two possibilities that I can think of.

First, try restarting both the watch and phone. Sometimes something goes wrong in memory that is easily fixed with a restart.

Second, try this somewhere with a different internet connection. We are in an isolated area. Sometimes when the internet is bogged down Siri will be very sluggish. Things look fine. There are a solid four bars or so connecting to the router, but the actual backend speed is sometimes slow. You could try a speed test to check this.

Hope this helps.

Good idea with restarting the phone, haven't thought of that.
Internet connection speed is fine, however. I have the luxury of a 1.000 mbit connection just for myself alone, so that shouldn't be an issue. I have the full broadband 50mbit upload speed on my devices.

Are you using just the watch or the watch with headphones? I had the exact same problem and it turned out that my left AirPod was bad. I replaced it and the issue went away.
