I have an AW Series 3 and an iPhone 7 Plus. I use Siri every so often and always wonder how Apple decides which Siri on which device will answer my request. Many times when I call on Siri, I see both my phone and watch start to respond but one of the devices gives up and the other takes over. Today, I asked Siri to remind me to do something today and both my watch and iPhone responded as Siri would. I looked into my reminders and there was two of the exact same reminder. Anyone else have this happen?

Try pressing the digital crown on your Apple watch to invoke Siri to have it take priority over your iPhone. I found that this works pretty well when both devices are close by.

I’ma try that. Good to know! Do you press the crown and then say, Hey Siri?
No you don't have to say "Hey Siri" when pressing the digital crown, just hold it in until the "What can I help you with" prompt appears on the screen and you are ready to enter you query or request to Siri.

I turned off “Hey Siri” on my phone so that any confusion would be eliminated. I almost always use Siri via my Apple Watch so I figured it made sense.

When I try Dave’s suggestion, the phone still answers before the watch.
Sorry but you are doing it "wrong". Since you never say "Hey Siri", there is no way for your iPhone to respond to the query or question.
