Siri pronounces address abbreviations incorrectly

Siri will pronounce Ave NE as "aive nee" when using Apple Maps. Plug in a business name, Apple Maps grabs it, loads the address into navigation, and Siri will always pronounce Ave and directional abbreviations phonetically. For NW she says En Double-you. You'd think Apple would have fixed this by now. She should say Avenue Northwest for Ave NW. So silly. Any idea if Apple is planning on fixing this annoyance?
